Where we hunt
Three countries, each doing one thing properly. In all three the camp sits on the hunting ground itself, so there is no long drive out to a concession each morning — you wake just before sunrise, eat, and head out as the light breaks.
South Africa
20,000 acres of Limpopo bushveld with no internal fences, and the lodge on the property itself.
Zimbabwe
Free-range elephant, hunted on foot. Trophy and non-trophy options, plus lion and leopard.
Mozambique
A quarter of a million unfenced acres on the Zambezi Delta, and the heaviest buffalo in the south.
Where most people start
First Safari — Limpopo
Four to six animals from the widest species list we offer, on 20,000 acres with no internal fences and the lodge on the ground. The right first trip to Africa.
Zambezi Delta Buffalo
The premium buffalo hunt. Heavy bosses, no fences on a quarter million acres, and a season fixed at late July to early September.
Zimbabwe Elephant
Free-range bulls tracked on foot. Full trophy hunts, or a considerably cheaper non-trophy option on an old bull around 30lb.
How we work
We are a small outfit and we run a small number of safaris a year. That is a deliberate choice. It means the person who answers your first email is the person who will be standing next to you when it matters.
We hunt free-range animals in unfenced country wherever the law and the ground allow it. Where we hunt managed land, we will tell you plainly that is what it is. You will always know exactly what you are booking.
We would rather you passed on three bulls and took the right one on day twelve than shot the first legal animal on day two. Most of our clients come back, and a good number of them bring their sons.
Gordon Stark founded this outfit in 1990 and is now moving toward retirement, with the day-to-day hunting passing to the professional hunters who have worked alongside him for years. Same concessions, same trackers, same standards. We mention it openly because anyone booking eighteen months out deserves to know who will be standing next to them — and because over thirty-five years of knowing particular valleys and particular animals is exactly what gets lost when a business does not plan for the handover. We have planned for it.
